 | | What is Arnica and how does it work?
 | | Arnica Montana is an alpine flower with pain healing properties. It has been used medicinally |
| | for centuries. The roots contain derivatives of thymol, which are used as fungicides and preservatives and have anti-inflammatory properties. Arnica is currently used in oil, salve, and ointment preparations used for Arthritis and joint pain, strains, sprains, and bruises.
 | | Some people are sensitive to the compound helenalin found in Arnica. If you develop a mild |
| | rash, then you are probably helenalin-sensitive and should stop using Arnica. Arnica taken internally is toxic. Never apply Arnica in any form on broken skin or on an open wound.
 | | How is the Salve & Oil made and what percentage of Arnica does it contain?
 | | Our salve and oil is made using the traditional method: I steep 6 cups of dried Arnica flowers |
| | in one gallon of olive oil, in a south facing window for a minimum of 30 days. Flowers are strained and squeezed and the oil is mixed with pure beeswax to form a solid salve, or the oil is used without beeswax and both are applied topically. Without laboratory testing, it's hard to say exactly what the percentage of Arnica is in the oil, just know from customers, it works!
 | | Regular or Warm?
 | | Regular is only Arnica. Arnica Warm contains pure oil of Capsicum (Red Pepper) and causes |
| | a 'warming/heat' affect on skin for cold weather or very stiff joints or back aches.
